FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Curry's classroom raised $335

My Students
My students are awesome! We are an autistic classroom, made up of students in grades 3-5. We have 7 students that have very different and unique needs. Many love the feel of different textures or the visual appeal of glitter and colors. To have these items purchased would help us have our sensory needs met and would help keep us on task. Sometimes we get upset and are unsure how we can calm down. To have some of our favorite items or activities can help us to relax.
My Project
My students learn best through visual and hands-on activities. These items will aid students in understanding concepts in Mathematics and English Language Arts. Having hands on acitvites will engage students in learning by actually doing and experiencing something, rather than just being told about it. When multiple activities such as talking, listening, and using the hands are combined, it activates more areas of the brain than a single activity. This helps to aid learning and recollection in the same way that multi-sensory play does. Hands-on activities help children to strengthen the muscles of the hand, improve thier accuracy, and learn functional skills that they will use for the rest of their lives.
