Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students come from a small, rural, farming community. They are amazing kids who show up everyday eager to learn. Our class is a family and a team that works together to help each other succeed.

The kids come to school knowing that it's a safe place where they will be loved, cared for and learn not only academics but also how to be a kind and responsible leader in their community.

The pandemic has affected our kids in so many ways. It has impacted them physically, emotionally, mentally and academically. Many are still experiencing the “Covid slide.” A large percentage of our kids are falling behind academically due to the pandemic.

The requested materials will enrich my students' learning experience in the classroom and help them be successful learners by bringing life back into learning through multi-sensory activities.

The STEM building centers and games will help them use their imagination and creativity and keep them actively engaged in their learning journey.. Hands-on learning helps them retain more information by engaging both the left and right sides of the brain. It improves their attention, encourages teamwork and critical thinking, and makes learning fun. I truly believe these materials will be beneficial in my classroom to enhance our learning and fight against the “Covid slide.”
