Hands-on Activities for Young Scientists

Help me give my students the opportunity to become scientists using discovery kits, mystery capsules, water blocks, sorting kits, and sensory sand kits. They would love and appreciate these new additions to our science center!

My Students

My students reside in a low-income are just outside of the city of Pittsburgh. They often experience many hardships socioeconomically and may not have the resources to help them become prepared for kindergarten. Our classroom focuses on not only academics, but also to help the children grow socially and emotionally.

I have a wonderful group of children who come to school excited to learn and try new experiences, despite facing hardships at home.

Having a strong rapport with both my student and their families will create a strong foundation for their education. Its my goal to create a safe, loving and caring classroom where my students are excited about coming to school and to ignite the spark to become lifelong learners.

My Project

My students love working with their hands. They have a have found a new love for science, and always enjoy learning about the world around them. Our science center has some great materials, but needs some love and new additions to help keep their spark ignited!

New science materials will be a great way to enhance their communication and problem solving skills.

The materials that were chosen will be added to our science center. Some of our objectives that children will working throughout the school year is to use tools and technology to perform tasks and to demonstrate knowledge of physical properties of objects and materials. The materials selected will help my students meet out program expectations. During our center time, my students will be able to explore these new materials and conduct their very own science experiments!
