This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My 4th-grade students are curious, creative, and eager to explore the world through hands-on learning. They thrive when given opportunities to engage with real-world science concepts, ask questions, and make discoveries on their own. This project will provide them with interactive materials that bring life science, physical science, and STEM exploration to life, making learning both meaningful and engaging.

The resources I am requesting—such as the Butterflies in the Classroom Kit, life cycle models, seed work activities, and science kits—will allow students to observe real-life changes, conduct experiments, and develop a deeper understanding of nature and the world around them.

Books like Flip, Float, Fly: Seeds on the Move and The Amazing Life Cycle of Butterflies will support literacy connections to science, while STEM challenge cards and the electric circuit kit will help students think critically, collaborate, and problem-solve. These materials will foster hands-on exploration, helping students make connections between scientific concepts and their everyday lives.

My goal for this project is to create an interactive science experience where students can develop critical thinking skills, curiosity, and a love for discovery. Many of my students do not have access to science kits or live experiments outside of school, so this project will give them an opportunity to engage with learning in a way that is both accessible and exciting. Your support will make a lasting impact, helping my students grow into confident scientists, engineers, and problem-solvers.
