I work in an inner-city school where most of my students come from low-income households. The neighborhoods where my students are from surround them with poverty and still my students come to school ready to learn. Their little minds are still full of wonder and curiosity and want to explore as much as possible.
My students are creative, thoughtful, and full of questions!
They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects, and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically.
My Project
The way learning will look next year is very unclear and uncertain. I want to be sure that whatever it looks like my, in person learners have the opportunity to participate in interactive activities.
With social distancing, students aren't able to play with and interact with one another as they did pre-Covid-19.
With the Osmo kits students will be able to interact with their learning through technology in a way similar to how they could before Covid-19.
Furthermore, headphones give my students the freedom to be on technology and have more choice. With the small amount of headphones I have now only 5 students would be able to use computers or iPads at a time. With a class set during rotations all students could choose technology at the same time and it wouldn't be a problem.
