My Project

My students are incredibly dedicated young artists who have chosen to attend a high-intensity conservatory program at the Chicago High School for the Arts. Every day, they spend three hours in their arts block, diving deep into their craft with focus and passion. In our ceramics studio, they find a sense of peace and purpose—

We’re in the exciting process of building out a new ceramics space for our sculpture program, and I want to give my students the tools they need to take their work to the next level.

With your support, I’m hoping to provide:

- A wider variety of glazes – so students can move beyond the basics and explore more advanced surface techniques that truly transform their pieces.

- New brushes – designed for detail work, helping them achieve greater precision and expressiveness in their glazing.

- Scraper and scoring tools – essential for slip and score methods that ensure their work stays strong and intact through the firing process.

These materials will be shared across grade levels in the visual arts conservatory, supporting artists at all stages of development. My students are ready and eager to experiment with more complex techniques and materials—they've been begging for new glaze options and are genuinely excited by the creative possibilities ahead.
