I am teaching a beading club and this is the first time our school is doing something like this. Many of our students want to participate in a club but they can't because they have responsibilities at home, parents can't pick them up after school, or parents have to pay money.
My class is made up of twenty-eight girls and two boys.
We are making beaded bracelets. My students will learn how to make bracelets that they can wear or give as a gift. They are excited to learn how to make jewelry. Who knows, we may have a future jewelry designer in the making!
The materials needed will help my students understand that with patience, and dedication they can create wonderful pieces of jewelry. They can apply this to any areas of their life and understand that it takes a small part of them to work toward a goal.
The greatest moment is when they are done and they see what they created.
With confidence and dedication many of them can work hard in school and know that they can accomplish anything they put their mind to. It will also help expose my students to a different form of art and feel good about it.
