Handling Handouts in a Healthy Way!

My Students

Being the Media Specialist, one of my main responsibilities is to address the needs of the "whole child" and treat every student holistically. My students come with varying needs, and over 90% live in impoverished homes.

Their diverse cultures, needs, and experiences mean that one size does not fit all when it comes to guidance and counseling.

Due to their parents' economic status being impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, and the fact that these children attend a Title I school where resources are limited, basic needs such as access to technology and school supplies are always ongoing issues.

At my school, I wear many hats and I facilitate a vast diversity of students' and teachers' needs alike. As the media specialist, I take a very active role in my students' literacy needs, especially when it comes to ensuring that each child that comes to me has equal access to a mobile technology device.

My Project

The monochrome/black & white printer with ink toner I am requesting will make a difference in my students' learning because we have hundreds of literature, resources, and activity sheets/assignments to hand out to each child every day!

This printer will also enable me to quickly and efficiently create posters, various visual aids, charts, activities, and assignments for my students.

Both of our school's copiers have been on the brink for the past 3 weeks, therefore all bulk copying jobs school-wide have been halted.

This printer will ensure that we will have the printouts/materials needed to create engaging learning resources and so much more for our students. This printer will make our daily activities easily available for all students school-wide since not all students have a printer at home. Having this printer in the media center will allow students to print their work using this wireless printer.

This printer provides students with more engaging visuals to better understand activities and assignments. Because of COVID/CDC guidelines, students cannot share materials, so to keep them safe and protect them health-wise, each student must have their own activity/home learning sheets and handouts. Help me to teach healthily and keep our students safe.
