This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Located on the western slope of Colorado, our school is a pre-k through fifth-grade school. We have over five hundred future leaders that we have the privilege of working with every day.

My classroom gives students the engagement and challenge they are looking for, as well as the means to express themselves and relate to the universal language of music.

Our students love music.

Access to appropriate tools and instruments grants our students the next challenge they desire. With our rigorous standards, students are asked to express, create, theorize, and evaluate music as individuals, small groups, and ensembles. They deserve the necessary tools and instruments to help them succeed.

My Project

Our students at HES have never experienced handbells (yet!). My job as a music teacher is to create an enviormment where students have unlimited access to instruments and handbells are nowhere to be seen in our school.

Handbells are an excellent tool for teaching music literacy & part independency in K-5th grade.

All grades can utilize handbells in play-along videos, self-led group projects, improvization, compositions, you name it! The possibilities are endless. Please consider funding this 2022 New Year project. It is sure to bring laughter, joy, and music to our classroom.
