Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
At our school, we focus on the whole child and their needs in order to help them access learning in the best way possible. 98% of the students at our school receive free and reduced lunch. Many of them access our school pantry to provide the basics such as food, clothing, and toiletries. 6% of the students in our school are identified as homeless or migrant students. 53% are identified as a minority, with 26% having limited English proficiency.
My Special Education classroom has 16 students in kindergarten through fifth grade, with many different abilities and challenges.
These students will benefit from access to supplies that support independent, differentiated instruction to address their individual learning styles and needs.
My Project
The hands2mind VersaTles Math Classroom set (Grade K) will be perfect for my special education classroom. The kit will give my students the opportunity to develop independence while completing math tasks.
