Hamlet: Help Us Get Shakespeare Back Into The Classroom!
My students need to have Hamlet, a "reachable' Shakespearean text that will expose them to the great Bard!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
To read or not to read...that is the question! Often, my students come to me with very little exposure to classics such as Shakespeare. I want to be able to give them the tools to tackle a classic!
My students are 8th graders from a high poverty area in the Midwest.
They have very few resources when it comes to reading of any kind, let alone the classics. Even our local library is at the other end of town--which makes it very difficult to get my students exposed to a variety of literature.
My Project
Hamlet can be very engaging, even to middle school students. They will be able to participate in some Reader's Theater activities in the classroom, which are always quite engaging. Most of all, my students deserve to be on a "level playing field" with other students in the state and deserve the resources to do just that.
Having a copy of Hamlet to explore, analyze and connect to can be such a powerful teaching tool!
Having this text may even inspire some students. Whenever, I get the chance I am always looking for ways to instill a lifelong love of learning within my students!
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
