Halloween Trick or Treating!

Help me give my students candy, chocolate, lollipops, pumpkin decorating kits, and various treats for Halloween.

My Students

My second graders are voracious readers! They love to read both fiction and non-fiction books. Their favorite characters include Pete the Cat, Fly Guy, Piggie and Elephant, and Mercy Watson. They also love to read about insects, space, and plants. My students are hungry bookworms! They are eager to learn and read about the world around them.

My students love to be at school and are like little sponges absorbing everything around them.

Their parents work long hours and usually do not see their children. The children are usually cared for by their grandparents or a family friend. Most of them do not have someone who speaks English at home. Thus, it is difficult for students to acquire language.

Due to financial hardships, my students do not have the opportunity to participate in extracurricular activities during the school year or summer.

My Project

Trick or Treat! This project will provide my second graders with a safe and fun environment to trick or treat during Halloween. The majority of my students do not get an opportunity to trick or treat in their neighborhood because their parents or guardians are working or there is concern for the safety of the children.

In our school, teachers work together so students can experience trick or treating by visiting different classrooms to show off their costumes and get candy.

Some students will even sing Halloween songs or recite spooky poems!

The candy, chocolate, and lollipops will be treats for students when they trick or treat. Also, students will be decorating their pumpkins with silly faces and make their own scary masks to wear.

The materials for this project will allow students to experience a tradition they would otherwise not be able to have at home.
