Half-Size and Three-Quarter Size Guitars Needed for Middle Schoolers
My students need guitars. I currently have only enough for half the class. Student behavior and focus increases if there is a 1-1 ratio of supplies for students.
The current atmosphere of my school is trying to rebuild school pride and improve its participation in the community. Often you'll hear conversation between students or students and teachers about what we need to have in our school. We have built a fountain of ideas ranging from a "Fun Club" to different after-school activities the students want to have.
As part of an underfunded urban district, students often find themselves limited by the lack of support for their interests.
I have seen my students thrive if they are given the opportunities and belief that they can succeed.
My Project
These guitars will serve our students' ambition to serve our community. With these guitars, students will have an enhanced learning environment of hands-on music making. Students will learn the discipline is takes to become more than a beginning musician. Students will further their skills by writing, creating, and performing music through the guitars to younger schools, community centers and families of the community.
This project will change the lives of many students who have access to very few opportunities that are not test related.
This project, guitars for our classroom, will provide a stress-free learning environment where students can use music as an outlet to their challenges and struggles that they face individually every day.
