This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This project is for two end of unit science projects for this school year. The students in my self-contained classroom love our Habitat and Ocean animal units. They love learning about different habitats and animals. At the end of the habitat unit students pick a habitat to research. At the end of the ocean animal unit they pick an Ocean animal to further research. Students complete research booklet for each project. Students show what they have learned in writing, drawing and visuals. Last school year I had students make a diorama after completing their research booklets. Students loved this hands on approach and it helped them better understand their habitat and ocean animal. Students were very excited to show their classmates their diorama after completing them. The materials in this project will help students create dioramas for this school year. The boxes will be the base of the projects. Students can use the construction paper to cover the inside and outside of boxes. The glue dots will be used to glue down plants, and animal figures. The modeling clay will be used to help students create any plants, structures or animals not provided for them.
