My Students

My students are a diverse group of learners. Many of my students are on the autism spectrum, have mild-to-moderate cognitive challenges, and many have some form of language-based disability. These kids need special strategies and resources. In order to graduate they must demonstrate minimum proficiency in science. I want my students achieve their goals. Acquiring proficient scores in science is achievable. They just need the right approach and enough opportunities to learn.

My students are bright and sweet children.They need extra help to acquire complex science concepts.

My goal is to make science relevant and accessible. It's not easy. However, working with them is a joy.

My Project

The water in our school is unsafe to drink. We got the notice last year. Water fountains have been covered and sinks have signs – FOR HAND WASHING ONLY! This is life in the public schools.

We need help to have access to safe drinking water.

We have water stations in the school, but the students only have access to the cooler in the main office – four floors below my classroom on the other side of the school. Getting a quick drink of water isn't an option. In fact, it's quite the trip.

I'm asking for help so that we can set up a student water station on our floor. Students will have access to clean, safe drinking water throughout the day. Thank you for your consideration.
