Gym Class With Mr. Weems

My Project

Help my K-6 grade students reach their academic and athletic goals in Gym class. I ordered yoga and stretching posters so my students can learn new stretches as well as the value of yoga. During my students warm up they run, walk and stretch. My students enjoy learning new stretching and taking care of their muscles. I order a cart/ container to stay organized and help with students understanding cleaning up and transitions. The football and basketball hoops will improve skills like catching and shooting a ball. Other skills include dribbling and passing. These skills are helpful and are needed for many sports. The smile I see on my students' faces when they are having fun is very important to me. I want to see my students successful when trying new sports.

The toys and prizes will help students stay motivated and encouraged to exercise.

Life long learners and advocates for fitness/ health. Students enjoy fun toys and prizes especially for their hard work. I create different challenges for my students to complete to unlock many different prizes. Through hard work and effort students deserve to be rewarded. The measuring wheel will be used to help with accurate measurements when doing track and field lessons. 10 meter fly sprint running workouts are types of speed training in which I use a measure wheel to accurately measure distances. Through carefully planned track and field workouts my school reaches our goals academically and physically. Students can be motivated to achieve more.
