My Students

One of the biggest challenges that teachers face in middle school is getting our boys to read. The Media Center focuses on this issue by promoting Guys Read programs. We feature books specifically targeting our male students.

Our students are faced with so many decisions and choices that compete with their attention.

Literacy is a priority at our school but the challenge is to make reading interesting to our students - especially our male students. Having sports books and other books with subjects that interest our boys is a necessity.

My Project

Our Guys Read list of books was chosen because they are books that would interest boys. The authors have been chosen because they are well known and accomplished authors. We want our boys to be reading good material that will help them to improve reading skills and vocabulary while at the same time are entertaining. Adding these books to our Media Center will accomplish all of these goals.

Your donations of these books targeted to interest boys will help in our desire to reach out to middle school boys and interest them in reading.

Providing good materials for the Media Center's Guys Read list of books will help us reach this goal.
