This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Lunar New Year is the most wonderful ancient traditional festival in Asia. This festival means the beginning of spring and the arrival of the new year. The customs of Chinese Lunar New Year include buying New Year's goods, cleaning and starting fresh and having family dinners together. The Lunar New Year is the most important social and economic holiday for billions of people around the world.

We will kick off Lunar New Year with an introduction to the holiday through read-alouds and classroom decorations.

My students will learn more about this festival by exploring items and games that represent New Lunar Year celebrations. The project will support our understanding of the Lunar New Year and celebrate our newly acquired knowledge!
