Gummy Bear Island - Natural Selection Introduction
Help me give my students a hands-on introduction to natural selection. What happens to the populations on Gummy Bear Island when aliens (us) invade?

My Project
The story: Gummy Bear Island is a fertile land with a variety of gummy bear species in balance...until alien predators invade the island and disrupt the ecosystem. The aliens (students) each eat a gummy bear and leave the island. While the aliens were away, the remaining bears had a new generation of offspring and things started to return to "normal" until...duh duh duuuuuh! The aliens return with the mother ship a year later.
Which aliens (students) will be poisoned by their gummy bear choice?
Which populations of gummy bears will survive and why? This simulation is all about natural selection, mimicry, camouflage, and the persistence of life to not only survive, but adapt and thrive.
