My Students

I teach in a school with students from diverse backgrounds and a high poverty rate, but my students come to school eager to learn. I strive to create a classroom environment that allows them to be successful.

My 29 students are full of energy and eager to learn!

Many of my students qualify for free lunch because of low household incomes. Many of my students are learning English as a second language, and even though that can be difficult, I work hard to help each of my students learn and grow when they come to school each day. We have a lot to cover in 5th grade to get them ready for middle school!

My Project

Guided math games and guided reading lessons will allow me to individualize my instruction to meet the needs of all of my students. By using a workshop approach to reading and math, I can meet all of my students needs better. Guided math foldables and vocabulary lessons will allow me to effectively target their instructional needs. It helps me give assistance to students who are struggling and helps me push my other students to deeper understanding.

The math games make learning fun and will give me time to meet with small groups.

The reading activities will do the same. I know these materials will make my teaching better by allowing more individualized instruction, and by having the cardstock and lamination pouches, I will be able to use them year after year!
