My students walk into my classroom every morning full of curiosity and eager to share no matter what took place between the time they left and the time they reentered my classroom. They have bright minds that challenge me to provide meaningful learning experiences for them. They absorb information like a sponge. They learn best when activities are hands on and provide a connection to self and real life. I teach 2nd grade in a Title I school. I believe every one of my student has amazing abilities and my job is to provide a safe and engaging environment for them to explore their possibilities.
My Project
I currently have five leveled reading groups with a total of 240 leveled books included in the program! Each group consist of 4 to 5 students.
I am finding it difficult to move to each group with the supplies I need for that group in a timely manner.
My time with the group is often cut short as I gather the supplies needed for that group. I have limited space in my classroom to store the books so I must keep them in a location where it's necessary for me to go gather the materials as needed. The mobile storage cart and book bins will allow me to quickly have the materials I need at hand as I work with each group and maximize student work time.
