Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We do Guided Reading every day in our classroom. This is a chance for students to focus on their skills in small groups, alongside readers working on the same strategies. Finding books that are interesting to students is imperative! My students LOVE nonfiction, so to bring this to the Guided Reading table will be amazing. Prior to reading in groups, my students use mini whiteboards to write letters and words we have been studying in phonics.
A selection of nonfiction texts in varying levels, mini whiteboards for phonics and word work, and a rolling cart to neatly store them by our Guided Reading table will positively impact our learning!
