My Students
The students in my class face several challenges both in an out of the classroom as our school is located in a high poverty neighborhood. Despite any challenges they may face, my hope is that in our school, we provide high quality and meaningful learning experiences.
The goal is for students to be excited to come to school every day and to be consistently and actively engaged.
Creating a classroom that is welcoming and comfortable for students is a major priority.
My Project
Students take part in guided reading on a daily basis in my classroom. This is a time when students are able to work at their instructional level and they are also able to work on skills they are struggling with.
These materials would provide my students with high interest, rigorous texts during the guided reading block.
It is extremely difficult to find effective materials for guided reading on a weekly basis. The reading bundle has so many resources that could be used throughout the entire school year. The guided reading block would be so much more successful with these materials.
