Guided Reading All-Stars!

My students need flexible seating for our guided reading table. The flexible seating will help students access our kidney table in our classroom during instruction. The pocket chart will be utilized to organize weekly vocabulary words.

My Students

The students in Room 206 are a diverse group of ladies and gentlemen who share one common interest, their love of learning. This year we are embarking on our first experiences together as a class community. Despite facing daily challenges, my students deserve the opportunity to come to school and learn something new everyday! My goal is to instill a lifelong love of learning and have my students develop the appropriate skills (social, emotional, and academic) in order to be successful. The students in room 206 need to develop appropriate coping skills in order to address behavior concerns. By modeling appropropriate coping skills and building a positive community, I believe these students will have the same opportunities available to them as their non-disabled peers.

My Project

The addition of the flexible seating and chart will add excitement to our guided reading area! It will give students the ability to utilize our kidney table during instruction and give me the opportunity to develop routines to keep students engaged in the guided reading process. It is important to have an area to meet with small groups during the The chart will give students the ability to reference weekly vocabulary words and help visually organize the words for each group. I believe it is important for students to take pride in their classroom appearance! This project will be a great addition to our classroom guided reading corner.
