This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

If you walked into our 5th grade classroom right now, you'd probably see students moving around tables to get into their small group work. We make it work, but it’s not exactly ideal for small group learning. That’s why we’re hoping to add a horseshoe table to our room. This would be great for guided math and small group work! We’re also asking for a computer table so students can use our Elmo projector setup without balancing everything on a wobbly cart. With a proper tech station, they can present their math work, share strategies, and take ownership of their learning like real classroom leaders.

Our students will love having dedicated spaces that support collaboration and hands-on learning.

The horseshoe table will create a focused space where we can work closely together on skills. The computer table will allow students to confidently share their thinking with the whole class. My students can get ready for middle school by practicing collaborative work and learning how to present their work to others.
