My students are excited to learn, and they love coming to school. They start their day with free breakfast in the classroom to ensure that all students have their basic needs met.
My students are eager to learn and they love to be challenged; developing a growth mindset at an early age sets the tone for future success.
Our classroom mission is to create a safe and fun learning environment, where all students can rise to their fullest potential and feel supported by their peers.
My school participates in a program called Sanford Harmony. This teaches students about managing emotions, working together, being a responsible citizen and most importantly it teaches students about peer conflict resolution.
My Project
In this guided math workshop I will have the opportunity to learn new and engaging strategies to support my students in daily math instruction. Reagan Tunstall is a guided math coach with 18 years of classroom experience, her workshop will give teachers the opportunity to experience hands-on guided math strategies for students in kindergarten through second grade.
This workshop will provide strategies for math mini-lessons, and differentiated small group instruction that will support the success of all students.
I will leave this workshop with a plan to implement the strategies learned and I will receive a class set of math manipulatives and guided math resources.
