I teach in a Kindergarten classroom in suburban Maryland. I currently have 16 students in a very heterogeneous classroom.
My Kindergarten students (the Gophers) need books to read in small groups during guided reading time. It is best if I have multiple copies of each book, one for each student in the group--however, a few copies can work as long as there are enough for them to pair up.
I need books that are at the students' reading levels and rich in appropriate sight words and picture to text support to help them develop their reading skills in small guided reading groups. Students will be able to benefit from these books by reading them every day in small guided reading groups with other students that are on approximately the same reading level as they are.
