Help me give my students the opportunity to enhance their reading levels by increasing their decoding and reading comprehension skills with small group activities and books.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My fourth-grade class is filled with hard-working students who require a little more support in their academic areas. They all love to read and have really enjoyed reading the seasonal books I have purchased, the magic tree house books, and books they have found around the classroom library. They come to school every day and work hard to increase their reading skills.
They love reading all kinds of new and different stories, especially in all our comfy new places around the classroom.
I want to be able to provide more activities and books to challenge them. My goal is to promote a love for reading by teaching students how to decode unknown words, learn strategies to spell words they do not know, and fully comprehend all the books they want to read!
The materials in this project will help my students drastically increase their reading levels and set them up for success in fifth grade and beyond! My hope is that each student in my class leaves 4th grade with reading strategies that they can carry throughout their lives.
