My Students
I teach at a diverse urban public school in the Boerum Hill neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY. The students at my school are goofy, kind, curious, and eager to learn new things. Our school and neighborhood are extremely diverse both economically and racially.
My first grade students are not only exciting to be around, but they are also some of the most caring, hardworking, and curious first graders who bring their open-mindedness into the classroom each and every day!
As their teacher, I strive every day to motivate my students to achieve their highest potential through reading, writing, math, science, music, and exploration!
My Project
Help me give my students a class set of Guess in 10 Animals! This game encourages students to access their prior knowledge and information about animals, with the clues provided to solve which animal is the mysterious animal behind the card!
This project will bring a Guess in 10 Animals deck to each student in my classroom and encourage students and families to read, have conversations, and use their schema to solve the Guess in 10 card!
The delightful game was brought in by one of my students and the excitement quickly took off! I think all families would love a deck to play in the car, when walking to school, or commuting to the train! Thank you in advance for supporting public school classrooms like ours!!
