This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are caring, bright young minds and have a drive to grow. They have a passion for reading and are eager to learn an new language. They come to class ready to speak Spanish and excited to know have fun, as they learn another language.
Many of my students come to me for support and extra assistance, because they do not have the resources at home.
They seek my classroom as an outlet to further their learning, and it would be amazing to be able to supply them with books.
My Project
All of my students want to learn at least one other language in their life. Reading helps promote their learning. Our class is just getting started and I do not have a wide rage of books to help give my students all the resources they need to build their vocabulary. These books will provide an opportunity to the students and help them increase their learning at their own pace. These books will give them the support they need at the level they are, and slowly move forward as they read. This will also help them improve their reading and help them articulate at a higher level. As they progress, they will be able to understand the target language at a more advanced level and continue growing. These books will also my students the opportunity to build their own thoughts in Spanish. They will be able to travel and apply what they learn in the real world. Not only informally, but also as they further their education in the work force.
This library will open doors.
Many of my student come from low income families and are not able to access all the needed tools to help them grow and further their skills. With this library they will have a wide selection of boos to choose from in the comfort of their own classroom.
