My Project
Living right in the middle of the country, in the Windward District on the island of Oahu, it's hard to get the supplies you need, when you need them. These items will make sure the students get the proper resources to help them learn, grow, and become stronger (in mental health and physical health). Our elementary school has a great amount of athletes and competitors waiting to shine!
Many of these necessities will be used in fun and creative ways at our school, ranging from Pre K-6th grade.
At the moment, we only have 3 soccer balls, and are borrowing 5 from the district, which we will have to eventually give back. With the 15 soccer balls we'd acquire, it'd give almost each student their own ball to work with. Also, the school has a ton of grass, but unfortunately, no soccer goals. The goals would also be used as a backstop when we play baseball.
Speaking of baseball, the sport is starting to take off in our school. The school having its own updated equipment would make for a great and realistic experience for the kids when they are picking up a bat or glove for the very first time.
Our school is full of strong and athletic children, and we'd like to each them to work together as a team. Not only will the materials like the parachute and tug o' war rope be a part of physical activities, it would teach the kids how to communicate and cooperate with each other in a positive and fun way.
400 elementary students will be able to benefit from these great pieces of equipment and expose them to sports, skills, and fun they may have never had before! Let's help these kids find their hidden talents!
