This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach 8th Grade U.S. History in an arts and technology magnet program. We are housed in a large, urban, Title I middle school with a limited budget and aging facilities.

My students are gifted, highly-engaged, creative thinkers who love to imagine, collaborate, and create.

They are a diverse group of middle school students who hail from a wide range of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.

As a teacher, I am responsible for creating a curriculum which is both challenging and engaging. My goal with any project is to invest students with the tools they need to improve literacy and critical thinking skills through the use of primary and secondary source documents.

My Project

Teachers pay teachers has become a go-to source for many educators during this global pandemic. Teachers have had to come up with virtual lessons in real time, especially lessons that promote social emotional learning.

Let’s give our students more options for SEL lessons that promote positive thinking and coping strategies through building a growth mindset.

Your donations to this project will enable us to use resources that include: bell ringers, online journals, thematic units, as well as units that promote executive function, decision making, and even financial literacy.

Whether we return in person or continue in virtual formats, these resources will help students students in my Homeroom / Advisory class for years to come.
