This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a Literacy Interventionist working primarily with students K-3 that are below grade level in reading. Often these students have fallen behind because traditional curriculum is either not engaging enough to hold their focus or they need alternative methods to be able to learn.
Being able to utilize a variety of visual aides and alternative curriculum is crucial to student success.
Colored images allow me to use an additional visual factor to help students understand differences and commonalities within language. Also, monitoring and measuring student success is very data driven. Being able to present this data in a formal and concise way to not only my administration, but to parents, teachers, and others with an interest in the children's educational success is vital.
To help me be able to facilitate these task, I am asking for your support in helping fund a colored printer for my classroom. My lessons are mostly small groups and very tailored to the individual students. Having the ability to print not only the previously mentioned items, but custom curriculum/aids on an as needed basis would be huge for my students. Any donations towards this would be greatly appreciated by not only me but by the countless students who would be impacted by this. Thank you so much!
