Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This year I am blessed to teach fifth graders that are very inquisitive about school and are getting ready to set new goals for their upcoming journey of middle school. In my classroom we treat each other like family and have respect for one another. My students come from many family settings and are culturally diverse, therefore when they come into my distance learning classroom, I want them to feel comfortable and be able to flourish, express themselves, and enjoy a safe place. My goal is to be a positive impact on my students and our school.
My Project
These books will enhance my students' 5th-grade minds to be inclusive and also have a growth mindset. To learn that we are not perfect and that everyone needs time to grow. These picture books and novel study teach life skills but also show that individuality is accepted. While my students are growing and changing these books can be a constant reminder that they are not alone with their feelings. This project will enhance a positive classroom environment and but also indulge in the power of reading through a new perspective.
