it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
These students are full of energy and a true desire for knowledge. Every morning, they excitedly ask what we are learning today. This group has such kind hearts and caring natures. I am sure to learn from them as much as they will learn from me. Kindergarten is one the most unique grades, as each student comes in with a different level of knowledge. Some can identify letter sounds, while others are focusing on writing their name. Some can represent a number, while others are practicing to count to 10. The most important skill a kindergarten teacher can have is knowing how to differentiate learning. With these tools, I can better reach each and every student.
My Project
These kindergartners are natural kinesthetic learners! The flexible seating options help keep students engaged and optimize learning! Research shows flexible seating improves concentration. This group also consists of higher level thinkers. Educational games help ensure each student, no matter their mastery level, can show growth! Various leveled educational games help me differentiate student learning. My goal is for every student to show growth. These small group centers can help engage each student at their own personal level of mastery on a given subject. Each game was chosen purposefully to be useful to multiple levels of understanding. For instance, the sentence puzzle can be used for one group to identify sight words, another group to read CVC words, another group to identify grammar, while another group can complete/create a sentence.
