Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We are adding a sensory therapeutic garden area to ur school. The class will use the seeds and hydroponic grow kits to grow food in them all year around. In springtime, we will use the garden tools and seeds to grow food for our us and the surrounding community. My preschoolers will also explore the new garden and observe insects, plant growth, shadows, sensory, the Earth's climate, and much more.
Preschoolers are amazed by the wonders surrounding them right in their own backyards.
The play food, insect counters, and garden building sets will be used in the dramatic play area and used to talk about the garden before we go outside and explore.
We will also add the science sensory tubes to our garden area to make it look interesting and help us explore sensory.
The other manipulatives (space viewers, eye droppers) will be used with varied science and math lessons and units taught in the spring. The magnetic wands will allow students to explore different materials and discover the wonders of learning. And lastly, we are asking for books about the garden and insects to help us learn and create a successful, beautiful garden to enjoy.
