Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Are you ready? Then activate your brains! It is what I ask my students every morning as we set our minds ready to begin our day.
"We are the Bears!
My students are a group of active Kindergarteners who are eager to learn living in an agricultural community. The energy of my Kindergarteners drives me to find new innovative ideas for our classroom. I'm always on the hunt to reach out, differentiating to all my students and their needs. Our school is a Title 1 school where 100% of students receive free lunch. The community of our school is filled with wonderful students who want to learn, have dreams, and aspire to grow and become successful. We are a Positive Behavior Intervention School where we work collaboratively in finding engaging ideas to promote a positive environment around campus.
My Project
Imagine growing in the 21st century with all the latest technology and expectations of Common Core, but without any resources to develop the necessary skills for the future. My Kindergarteners are full of energy and excited to use the few computers we have. However, with your generous donation of an iPad, iPods and headphones, they would be able to explore and build skills they need in Phonics and prepare them for the future. With the iPad, my students would use it as a tool and facilitate their learning in building literacy skills, math skills and follow step-by-step directions. The iPods and Phonics center kit would allow my students to have a listening center in our class and utilize the technology as a resource to build the skills they need not only to advance to first grade at the end of the year but the skills they will need for the remainder of their education. Kindergarten is a crucial time to build basic skills that will prepare them to be ready for the 21st century.
The generous donations will improve our classroom by building the skills my students need to be ready for the future.
They are a deserving, and respectful bunch that will change their lives and grow an interest in technology and open their minds to new ideas. Who knows, I might have the next scientist or the next doctor in my class that will help future generations all due to having an opportunity to learn and explore something new by using an iPad, or iPods in my classroom.
