My Students

My fifth-grade students are very eager to learn and are inspired by great literature. Our class is part of an Advanced Learning Program. The purpose of this program is to meet the needs of students who learn at a fast pace.

One of the challenges of teaching students who learn quickly is keeping up with their constant demand for new learning materials and resources.

We are always looking for exciting ways to incorporate technology into our classroom and developing 21st-century skills.

I am always looking for new ways to reach the needs of my students and challenge them in hopes of making learning unique and memorable. My favorite quality of my students is their passion and excitement for learning.

My Project

Using an iPad for Progress Monitoring will be a huge help in monitoring student growth and monitoring school-wide reading fluency. This is a powerful tool that can impact every student in the school as I visit classrooms, reading with all students. Students will be provided with a streamlined experience of completing their 1-minute timed tests as well as their retell.

Our school is required by the state to complete reading assessments through Accidence Reading.

This is an assessment that is much easier to administer with the use of an iPad.
