I'm lucky to teach fifth and sixth graders at Science Leadership Academy Middle School. We are a project-based, inquiry driven school in Powelton Village in the Mantua neighborhood of West Philadelphia. My students are curious, engaged and always looking for new material to soak up. Given this, I'm looking for new books!
My students are learning to love reading more and more each day.
We're currently finishing up a graphic novel focused, literature circle unit and students are loving their books. I'm looking to fill our bookshelves with more on-level books so students will continue to grow their enthusiasm for reading.
My Project
These materials will help our students become even more excited about reading. These books are high interest. They feel fresh and new. Many of them are part of a series so students will feel excited to keep reading once they get to know a set of characters.
These books are also at a variety of reading levels to help meet the diverse needs of students in our school.
We're looking forward to having our bookshelves completely filled with books, thanks to this project!
