Growing Strong in the Desert!

Help me give my students materials they need to better understand the desert ecosystem through a hands on project!

My Project

Living in the desert where temperatures are often well above 100 degrees will not stop our young gardeners! Sierra Verde's after school garden club has a long history of success with making things grow. Students tackle both outdoor and indoor gardening during the course of the fall semester.

Learning about the desert ecosystem encourages our young gardeners to investigate which plants thrive when water is scarce.

The materials in this project will present my students with an opportunity to learn how to properly plant and grow plants that require excellent drainage and limited water. Students will then take these plants home and continue to care for them!
