My Students
Can you imagine elementary school without raising chicks, freeing butterflies, nature walks, and a variety of experiments? Well, our students shouldn't be left out of the fun! Science is an important part of our curriculum and we want our students to be fully engaged in hands on learning!
Our class is made up of students with varying abilities and learning styles.
Our school is located in the South Bronx where many opportunities to learn about science and the wide world around us is quite limited. School is a safe place for our children and learning is at times a struggle for them since many unfortunate events go on outside the school building that distract their impressionable minds. The teachers and administration at our school are our students second families. Our gentle ways and guiding teaching styles help our students see their potential and success from day one!
My Project
In order to be college and career ready, our students needs to learn about science. The varying kits will provide countless hours of fun experiments and activities where our students can explore the scientific method. The subscriptions to Time for Kids and Scholastic News will help students remain current with events in their world. The rotting log is a great extension of the food chain and webs. The rotting log will be a real life example of how the earth is utilized by the animals and insects on it!
Because of your kind and generous donations, our students will get the chance to experience life outside of the South Bronx, while remaining in the comfort of our classroom.
Their love of science will only increase as we get to experiment and learn science through hands on activities.
