My Project

I teach kindergartners who for many, due to Covid-19, have not had the same opportunities to grow their social emotional resilience. Many are coming to us at school unaware of what they are feeling when tired, upset, or frustrated. They don’t know how to communicate it to us, or how to regulate those emotions. I want to build resources within my classroom so that I can teach the whole child, instead of just their academics. The items requested will help during small group instruction where I am able to work one one one with students to learn more about their emotional needs. We will be able to play games to help identify our different emotions and start conversations on how to manage the big feelings the students have. All of these tools will be used for intentional social emotional growth opportunities.
