Help me give my students 50 books to help them grow as emerging readers.

My Students

My students are bursting with energy and have a strong desire to grow and learn. The majority of my students are Native American. Due to the low socioeconomic area we live in, 100 percent of my students receive free breakfast and lunch at school.

I am aware of the challenges many of my students face, and I make sure that when they walk through my classroom door, they are all given an equal opportunity to learn in a positive, encouraging environment.

My Project

Reading is a huge part of our daily routine. We are working hard to build a love of reading while growing our fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.

Many of my students haven't been in a classroom in over a year and a half, this also means they haven't had as many books in their hands.

These new books are all easy readers. These books will help fill a void in my library as well as meet the needs of many of my growing readers.

Our goal is for each student to try and read 1,000,000 words by the end of the year, it's a big goal, but everyone is motivated to achieve it.
