Help me give my students a diverse art library to stimulate their minds, grow their interests in reading and get their creative juices flowing.

My Students
I teach students in K-5 classrooms on a daily basis. These children are some of the most creative, energetic, and eager young people I have ever had the privilege of working with. I'm always amazed at how excited they are to learn and try new things.
The level of ambition, curiosity and interest I see in my scholars is immense.
However, I want to aid students in their desires and give them all the tools that will help their mental growth. This school is comprised of students from lower socioeconomic backgrounds. With a little help however, there's no limit to what they can achieve.
My Project
Literacy is one of the largest areas of struggle for scholars in my school. Having a diverse art room library, chock full of interesting reads, funny tales, and creative journeys will give my students yet another avenue into reading. And for those kids who aren't that fond of making art, books can offer an additional avenue for exposing them to the arts as a whole.
Mary McCleod Bethune once said “The whole world opened up to me when I learned to read.” And that's exactly what I want for my students — an awaking to the joys of reading.
An art room that has a few books as considered a good thing, but to truly have a diverse library of books is one of the best ways to assist this art teacher in reaching all of her students in a much more personal and meaningful way.
