My Project

Our classroom library currently lacks representation of the rich variety of cultures, experiences, and voices that make up our world. By building a diverse collection of books, we can foster empathy, understanding, and a love for reading among our students. This project aims to purchase a curated selection of books that celebrate diversity in race, gender, ability, and experiences.

Goals:

Increase Representation: Provide students with access to stories featuring characters and authors from various backgrounds.

Promote Empathy: Encourage students to see the world through different perspectives, enhancing their social-emotional learning.

Foster a Love for Reading: Engage students with relatable and inspiring stories, encouraging them to read more.
