Growing Readers and Writers

Help me give my students a variety of ways to learn and grow because using different hands-on materials while teaching helps to maintain their engagement.

This project is fully funded

My Project

I have included reading comprehension tools, sight word readers and several other items that I will plan to use during small groups. Some of these items are whiteboards with lines for students to practice their writing and spelling. I also included 2 different types of tabletop displays that we can use. I liked these because they are small enough to put on the table and move around to different students so they can all be involved. We will use these to manipulate sounds and words, practice our reading and writing. The Wobble Chair Feet and fidget games will help students who need to wiggle and focus. The lights will help reduce the glare in our room.

Student engagement is a crucial part of their learning.

Using things like pop-its to spell words, and whisper phones to practice reading are things that get them excited to learn. I hope to use more things like these to increase engagement and help students grow!
