Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have a highly spirited group of kiddos! They are bright, sweet, funny, and ready to learn. We're together for 8 hours a day 5 days a week for an extended school year.
Our school is in an economically disadvantaged area.
90% of our students are on free or reduced breakfast/lunch. We also provide dinners for our families. Despite everything they are up against, my kiddos come to school each and everyday with smiles on their faces. They are my heros.
My Project
Access to iPads will allow my students to become comfortable with using this technology in a safe, appropriate way. We can use apps for literacy, math, science, and social studies. iPads will also allow more of my students to make use of iStation to grow their reading skills. Headphones will help their little ears to hear the apps instructions. Additionally, we are asking for cases and warranties to protect this substantial investment.
Our school simply cannot afford to give all grade levels access to this tech and I want to make sure my kiddos close the education gap!
I spend a lot money to make my classroom fun and educational but there are limits to my funds. I simply cannot afford to make this dream happen for them.
