My Project
My students will use the books for independent reading every day. This year I am trying an experiment to challenge my students to read 20 books over the course of the school year. In the past I have required little and they haven't turned into readers. I am hoping that with a tougher expectation and more access to reading material they will become readers.
This project will give students access to high interest reading material.
I read a lot of teen literature, so I have chosen books that will appeal to a variety of readers. I hope to create a culture in my classroom where books are not only read but also discussed and shared. I want to create life-long readers that will leave my classroom excited about reading.
