My Project

Integrating the AquaSprouts 29-gallon aquaponics system into the classroom offers a dynamic, hands-on learning experience that supports key concepts in both 9th grade Earth and Environmental Science and AP Environmental Science. For 9th graders, the system provides a tangible way to explore Earth's systems—specifically the interactions between the geosphere, hydrosphere, biosphere, and atmosphere—while reinforcing topics like nutrient cycling, ecosystems, and human impact on the environment. For AP Environmental Science students, it becomes a living model of sustainable agriculture and resource management, supporting deeper inquiry into water conservation, energy flow, waste reduction, and systems thinking.

This ongoing, real-time ecosystem will promote scientific observation, data collection, and analysis skills at all levels, fostering curiosity, responsibility, and environmental stewardship across the curriculum.
