Growing Minds: Indoor Hydroponics for Students with Autism

Help me give my students the opportunity to explore climate and the environment through an indoor hydroponics system, where they can learn about sustainable gardening practices in a safe and accessible classroom setting.

My Project

I love how curious and eager my students are to learn about the world around them, despite the challenges they face. Many of them, especially those with disabilities and autism, thrive in hands-on, sensory-rich environments. The hydroponics system will provide them with a unique opportunity to explore climate, sustainability, and biology in a way that's both engaging and accessible. By bringing this growing system into the classroom, I can create a learning space that fosters independence, curiosity, and a deeper understanding of environmental science. It’s a project that will help them develop both academic and life skills.
